The family will receive friends and family at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Sunday (Dec. 15th) from 1pm-3pm; followed by a funeral service at 3pm at the funeral home.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Betty McIlroy.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tracie (Herrick) McIlroy; daughter Keri (Jesse) Schubmehl; sons, Philip (Alicia) McIlroy, Alan (Amelia) McIlroy; grandchildren, Isaac, Lucas, Lydia, Graham, Darren, and baby boy McIlroy arriving in March; brothers, Tom (Fay) McIlroy, and Bob (Wanetta) McIlroy; sister-in-law, Cathy Herrick; brother-in-law Scott Herrick; and nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends.

I remember Richard from my youth. I used to work with his father Jack. I also remember his older brother Tom. I also remember his mother. I think his mother and Ken Brown’s wife were sisters.
My condolences to the entire family. Like Ralph, I miss the people of my youth. I was blessed to know many of the entire family.

To the MCilroy family
I will always have fond memories of Dick coming over to our house to hang out with Chuck Richtmyer. Dick was always so funny. He always picked on me. He was always in cub scouts and boy scouts. My mom (Geraldine Richtmyer) was his den mother in Cub Scouts.
He always made us all laugh.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time .
