Age 67, of Montour Falls lost his life on Wednesday, June 16, 2021. He enjoyed working mainly in marine construction on Seneca and other nearby lakes, although considered himself semi-retired for the last five years. He moved his family to the Finger Lakes area in 1985 from the suburbs of Long Island and often said it was “one of the best things I ever did”.
He is survived by his beloved family: wife, Ruth, daughter April (Kyle) Bronson, son-in-law, Randy Savoie, grandchildren, Mason and Hannah Savoie, brother, Jeffrey (Sharon) Prince, his in-laws: father Willard and the five Prostka sisters and their families, and many friends, both old and new.
He was predeceased by his children, Samantha and Zachary Prince, parents, Harold and Doris Prince, brothers, Harry and Stevie Prince and mother-in-law, Ruth Prostka.
Ricky was a passionate reader of American history and as a young adult, had participated in Civil War reenactments. His brother and “17th street” friends enjoyed many lively discussions on history, politics and sports.
Ricky was the family’s “chief cook and bottle washer” for the past fifteen years. He searched the internet for different recipes to try and became a very creative cook. One of his specialties, Buffalo Chicken pizza will be missed by many family and friends.
Ricky was a thoughtful friend. He enjoyed sharing funny jokes and cartoons, historical moments, political memes, movie quotes or “just thinking about you” texts with friends and family.
No formal services will be held as per Ricky’s wishes.
