Agnes L. (Davis) Wyre

Age 81, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully at Founders Pavilion in Corning, NY, Saturday, February 14, 2009.

She was the beloved wife of Frank Wyre for 64 years, and loving mother to 11 children. She is survived by her husband; and sons, Frank, Jr., Edward (Gail), David (Donna), and John (Lori) Wyre; daughters, Frances (Robert) Sample, Penny (David) Russell, Shirley O’Dea (Charles Wilson) Wilma Wyre, Karen Murphy, Debra (Ronald) Alexander, and Barbara (David) Miller; sisters, Leona Sandusky, Ellen Misner; 25 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Doyle, Levi, and Glenn Davis; sisters, Anna “Frances” Forbes, Ruth Sawyer, Dorothy DeGraw; grandsons Daniel Shumway and Stephen Miller; and great-great-grandaughter Ava Marie Collins.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, Tuesday (Feb. 17) from 2-4pm; a funeral service will immediately follow at 4:00pm; Rev. J. Keith Kissel will officiate; interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
