Age 81, of Price Rd., Montour Falls, NY, died at home surrounded by her loving family, Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Alberta was born on August 21, 1930 in Montour Falls, the daughter of the late Herbert and Ara Kipp. She was also predeceased by her brother, George Kipp, as well as her sister, Virginia (Kipp) Gilbert; husband, George Smith and former husband, Frank Simpson; step-children, Nelson Smith, Dennis Smith, Sally (Smith) Ayers, and Glen Smith; and grandchildren, Jeff and Jason Cervoni. She is survived by her sister, “Betty” Elizabeth Jones of Watkins Glen; children, Robert Simpson (Denise Bradley) of Burdett, Frank Simpson of Creston, NC, Donald (Regina) Simpson of Reading Center, Ronald (Caroline) Simpson of Watkins Glen, Beverly (Ronald) Cervoni of Watkins Glen, Harry (Tina) Smith of Oklahoma; step-children, George (Bernice) Smith of Holy, NY, Rick (Amy) Smith of Gaines, PA, Kirk (Linda) Smith of Montour Falls; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Alberta worked at Corning Glass for 15 years before she retired. She also owned and operated several convenience stores in the area. Friends and family are invited to call Friday ( June 22nd) from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, where funeral services will be held at the conclusion of visiting hours, at 2 p.m., Rev.
