Andrew David Flood
Age 47, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at his home in Sarasota, FL, on Monday, August 2, 2021.
Andrew was a South Seneca Central School, Ovid, NY, graduate, Class of 1992. After graduation Andrew was briefly involved in the Air Force ROTC in Prescott, AZ. When his mother became ill, his heart beckoned him home. When he returned to CNY, he worked many jobs and built a strong work ethic. He enjoyed his time spent working at Myers Farm, and found learning about the intricacies of organic farming both interesting and rewarding; that is, until he confronted a couple of husky bulls in the pasture! He then accepted a position as an associate with Walmart, and was instrumental in helping to launch the new store in Watkins Glen, NY. Finding New York State taxes and winters disagreeable, Andrew decided to move south to Florida, to the Tampa area. He worked in several Walmart centers, but following his true love for fast cars, he accepted various positions with Auto Zone and finally NAPA, which would score him sponsorship tickets to the Daytona 500. He was a true Trekkie, but Andrew shared his good fortune of several trips to the big race with his longtime buddy, Lucus.
Andrew is survived by his maternal grandmother, Ruby Humphrey, (Rochester, NY), his mother, Peggy Flood, (Burdett, NY), his brothers, Michael Flood, (Trumansburg, NY), and Brian Flood, (Interlaken, NY), and sister, Jennifer Chierchio, (Richford, NY), numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Andrew is predeceased in death by his paternal grandparents, Matt and Sylvene Flood, (Interlaken, NY), maternal step-grandfather, Bernard Humphrey, (Burdett, NY), father, James Flood, (Interlaken, NY), and brother, Daniel Flood, (FL).
