MEEHAN, Anne Morgan Woodworth
87, of Watkins Glen, passed away on January 22, 2016. Anne was born on June 30, 1928 in Corning, NY, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Emily Morgan. She was also predeceased by two brothers, Lee and Lynn Morgan; husbands, Nelson C. Woodworth and Louis J. Meehan; and son, James Woodworth. Anne is survived by three children, Larry (Sheila) Woodworth of Hector, Nan Woodworth of Watkins Glen, and Morgan (Linda) Woodworth of Covington, PA; daughter-in-law, Lee-Anne Woodworth; six grandchildren, Emily Bozeat, J. Paul Woodworth, Leah Shaw, Rachel (Jon) Meyer, Sameh Shaw, and Zachery Woodworth; and two great-grandchildren, Lester and Anna Bozeat. Anne was a Business Education teacher at Watkins Glen Central School for many years and has been approached by numerous former students over the years who reflected how she influenced them in their career paths. She also co-directed many Senior Plays. She retired from teaching in 1984. Anne was a talented piano player. She played piano for many years until very recently at the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club meetings every week, and for mass at St. Benedicts and St. Mary’s Churches. She and her late husband, Louis, served as chairpersons for the Dixie Land Jazz Festival. Anne enjoyed traveling extensively in her retirement. She worked as a Bookkeeper for the Town of Reading for many years and volunteered for the Schuyler Hospital Auxiliary and many other community organizations. The family will receive friends on Monday (Jan. 25th) from 3pm-5pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, 905 N Decatur St, Watkins Glen; followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Watkins Glen.
