Arthur Easling
Age 74, of Rock Stream, NY passed away unexpectedly on Friday, September 21, 2007 at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls, NY.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 1-3pm and 6-8pm at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8:00pm; Rev. Jeanne Bleiler officiating; a private burial with military honors will be held at Beaver Dams Cemetery.
Arthur and Marjorie married on Dec. 3, 1955. They had five children and ten grandchildren. Arthur was a loving husband, son, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed times with his family and friends. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing, and woodworking. Arthur honorably served his country in the US Army from April 1953 until April 1955 with special training as a Paratrooper. Arthur worked 38 years at Corning Glass Works, starting as an industrial truck driver, then machinist, then ending his career as a laboratory technician in research and development. Arthur was an active member of the Moose Lodge #426 in Montour Falls.
He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur D. and Thelma Easling, and wife Marjorie.
He is survived by children, Sharyl (James) Holmes, Dean Easling, Dale Easling, Cindy (Gary) Hines, and Wayne Easling; brothers and sisters, Florence and Alton O’Brian, Mashall and Irene Easling, William and Shirley Easling, Gerald and Patricia Easling, Linda and Mark Howell; special companion, Jean Harrian; ten grandchildren, Denyel Harer, of Horseheads, Marlita Hunt, of Dundee, Bernard Hines, of Penn Yan, Spencer Hines, of Dundee, Bradley Valder, of Long Island, Matthew Easling, of Dundee, Crystal Easling, of Dundee, April Easling, of Dundee, Amanda Easling of Dundee, Stewart Easling, of Watkins Glen; three great-grandchildren, Austin Hunt, Ryleigh Hunt, Jenah Hovat; one great-grandson he hadn’t met yet, Garren Forrest Harer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
