Arthur D. Sims

Age 82 of Beaver Dams/Willseyville, NY, passed away December 26, 2024.

He was born in Candor, NY on June 14, 1942, the son of the late Claude and Lillian (Hayward) Sims. He worked as a Custodian for Ithaca College for 53 years, retiring in 2016 at the age of 74. He was also a volunteer with the Ithaca Fire Department for many years. His many hobbies included collecting old tractors, and he especially enjoyed giving his many grandchildren tractor rides.

He was predeceased by his parents; as well as beloved grandson, Timothy Blim; and 6 brothers and sisters, Eunice, Iva, Betty, William, Claude, and Ralph. 

He is survived by his children, Lillian (Wayne) Bryan of Watkins Glen, Paula (Mark) Wallenbeck of Beaver Dams, and Kate (James) Kennedy of Beaver Dams; brother Al (Bobbie) Sims of Groton; sisters Albie Golmez of North Carolina, and Shirley Morgan of Port Chester, NY; 9 grandchildren William, John, Josh, Travis, Dominic, Damion, Lexie, Levi, and MacyMay; 6 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

A Celebration of Life was held Saturday (January 4th) from 2pm-6pm at the Montour Falls Fire Station, 111 Lee St., Montour Falls.
