William H. O’Dell, Sr.

Age 71, of Pine City, NY, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, May 12, 2008 at St. Josephs Hospital, Elmira, NY.

He is survived by his wife Diane (Lowman) O’Dell; sons and daughters-in-law, William O’Dell, Jr. and wife JoEllen, of Big Flats, David and wife Michelle O’Dell, of Pine City, Mark O'Dell and fiancée Teri Bargesser, of Southport; grandchildren, BillieJo O’Dell, Rhian and Eric O’Dell, and Christopher “Cricket” O’Dell and Brady Bargesser; niece, Emma Lowman; mother-in-law, Janice Lowman, Elmira; grandmother-in-law, Gertrude Sargent, Elmira; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dale and Kellie Lowman, Elmira; several cousins; and special friends and best neighbors, Kathy Chapin and Darcy Gray.

He was predeceased by both parents, Harold and Leona O’Dell; and a son, Christopher O’Dell.

Billy enjoyed the outdoors, often spending time fishing and vegetable gardening; and he especially loved caring for the birds that visited his backyard.

To celebrate and remember his life the family will have a gathering at the Golden Glow Fire Department, 39 Alvord St. Elmira, on Thursday, May 15, at 6:00pm.
