Bruce Adams
Age 83, of Hector and Horseheads, NY, passed away on June 12, 2012.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marion; children, Amy (Chip) Cochran of Hackettstown, NJ, Bonny Adams (fiancé E. Scott Smith) of Millport, NY; brother, Richard (Liz) Adams of Hector; sister, Jean Bishop of Montour Falls; 4 grandchildren, Christian and Cameron Cochran, and Nicholas and Austin Dalrymple. He was predeceased by brother, Bud Adams; sister-in-law, Jean Adams-Moiseichik. Bruce worked for Corning, Inc. for 36 years, from 1951 until his retirement in 1987. He later founded Precision-Analytical in Watkins Glen. Bruce was a member and elder of the Hector Presbyterian Church. He was a co-founder of SHOC (Schuyler Housing Opportunity Council, Inc), member of CPI (Community Progress, Inc.), member of Church Men Against Poverty, honorary member and treasurer of the Valois-Logan-Hector Volunteer Fire Co., and served on the Corning-Painted Post School District Board of Education. He was also a recipient of the Erroll Shand Award for Community Service. A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00am at the Hector Presbyterian Church in Hector, NY.
