Clifford LaRue

Age 92, of Rock Stream, NY, passed away July 6, 2024.

Clifford was born on Footes Hill in Burdett, the son of Archie and Helen (Kimble) LaRue. 

Clifford worked as a forklift operator at Cargill Salt Company before retiring. He was also a store manager for The Market Basket in Spencer, Montour Falls, and eventually Watkins Glen. And later for Acme Markets in Watkins Glen. He enjoyed woodworking-- making small furniture and birdhouses. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, camping, and traveling—visiting 46 of the states. He was a member of the former Seneca Chief’s Motorcycle Club for many years. 

He was predeceased by his wife Marylou of 37 years, whom he married on Valentines Day in 1984. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Melvin LaRue. 

He is survived by his son, Gary D. LaRue of Horseheads; daughters, Dawn (Carl) Butler of Chenango Forks, NY and Suzanne (Keith) Bishop of Montour Falls; step-daughters Dian (Carl) Silliman of Montour Falls, NY and Debbie (Frank) Devine of Vermont; and sister Mary Lisowski of Montour Falls; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
