David Wickham

David M. Wickham
Age 84, and a lifelong resident of Hector, NY, passed away February 17, 2016 in Southwest Florida surrounded by family. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS AND RELATIVES AT THE ROYCE-CHEDZOY FUNERAL HOME, 212 E. 4TH ST., WATKINS GLEN, ON FRIDAY, APRIL 22ND, FROM 5PM-8PM. A MEMORIAL SERVICE CELEBRATING HIS LIFE WILL BE HELD SATURDAY, APRIL 23RD AT 11:00AM AT THE HECTOR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, HECTOR, NY. He was predeceased by his parents, Don and Florence Wickham; wife Patricia (Hartzog); and brother, William Wickham. Survivors include his son, Timothy (Stacy) Wickham; sister, Mary Jane (John) Hoare; 4 grandchildren, Emily, Thomas and Sarah Wickham and DJ Adams; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Wickham; sister-in-law, Donna Wickham Johnson; brother-in-law, Sam Hartzog; and many nieces and nephews. David was born, raised and lived his entire life at the same home in Hector. He graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1948, and attended Cornell University and graduated from Michigan State University in 1953. He was a member of the National Fraternity of Alpha Gamma Rho. He honorably served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He later returned home and began a partnership with his father and brother, and managed the family fuel business until he retired. David also served as Postmaster in Hector for over 20 years and was a volunteer and past Fire Chief for the Valois-Logan-Hector-Fire Company. He also served on many numerous local committees, boards and agencies. He was a lifelong member and an Elder of the Hector Presbyterian Church.
