Diane A. Anderson

Diane A. Anderson, age 86, of Hector, NY, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2024.

The family will receive friends to celebrate her life at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Saturday (Oct. 19th) from 2 PM to 4 PM, followed by a memorial service at 4 PM. A reception will be held at the Hazlitt Oasis at 6 PM.

Diane was born on April 17, 1938 in Binghamton, NY, the cherished only child of Lawrence and Georgia (Webb) Daniels. A passionate educator, she devoted many years to teaching at Westmere Elementary School in Albany, where she touched the lives of countless students.

Diane is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband, Earl G. Anderson. She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Richard (Lorrie) Evans of Hector, and her daughter Julie (David) Schloss of Bethesda, MD. She is also survived by her step-sons Tim (Barb) Anderson of Hector, Bruce (Ellen) Anderson of Hector, Paul (Amy) Anderson-Winchell of Cornwall on Hudson, Peter Anderson of Syracuse, and Dan (Pauline) Anderson of Columbia, MD; as well as 13 adoring grandchildren: Zachary, Benjamin, Jason, Maxwell, Kelsey, Laura, Katie, James, Aaron, Marta, Matt, Brad, and Steve. Additionally, she held a special place in her heart for her dear friend, Valerie Conway, with whom she shared many treasured moments.

Diane led a life filled with joy and laughter. She found immense pleasure in games of all kinds, including Bridge, Mahjong, pickleball, and golf. Her adventurous spirit led her to travel often, savoring new experiences and the company of loved ones over delightful meals. Diane enjoyed the serenity of lake life, but above all she cherished her time with family.

As we remember Diane, let us carry forward her vibrant, optimistic spirit and the love she shared with all those around her. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
