Doris M. Oliver
Age 83, of Rock Stream, NY, passed away on August 14, 2022 after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by her loving children.
Doris was born on Sugar Hill in Watkins Glen, the daughter of Robert and Mabel Schoffner. Doris worked at Schuyler Head Start in Montour Falls and was also a bus driver. She also worked as a waitress at Joe’s Diner. She also enjoyed selling farm produce with her daughter at their stand in Montour Falls and meeting people.
Doris is survived by her sons, Steven Oliver Sr. (Mindy) of Beaver Dams, Timothy Oliver (Alice) of Auburn, Washington; her daughters, Doreen Mack (Stephen) of Watkins Glen, Regina Fausel (Alan) of Rock Stream. Doris is also survived by her brothers, John Schaffner of Watkins Glen and Ronald Schaffner (June) of Watkins Glen, sister Marion Harrison of Watkins Glen; and 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Doris was predeceased by her husband John R. Oliver; her parents, Robert and Mabel; sister Elizabeth Stoddard; and brother Robert Schoffner.
There will be no calling hours or service per Doris’s request. Donations can be made in Doris’s name to the American Cancer Society (cancer.org).
