Edward Tucker

June 16, 1925 — April 15, 2012

Edward James Tucker, 86, of Watkins Glen, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, April 15, 2012. Ed was born June 16, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY. He served our country with the US Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater, Guam and Okinawa during World War II. He retired from Ingersoll Rand after 30 years of service. Ed loved to write and kept a journal for many years. He also wrote a column in the Watkins Review & Express for 25 years and always kept up with people in the community, and visited when he was able. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Horseheads, NY, and his faith in God and praying for others was the most important part of his life. Ed was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 426 of Montour Falls. He loved history and could recall all the details, and was involved in politics. His quiet smile, glistening blue eyes and Words of Wisdom will be missed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Adele on April 13, 2003. Survivors include his children, Fred Tucker and partner, Josanne Callahan, Patricia LoSecco and husband Anthony, Margaret Frantz and husband Robert, Russell Tucker and wife Kitty, Jim Tucker and partner Brenda Carl; 11 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends and relatives on Friday (April 20th) at the Reading Community Church in Reading Center from 9:00am-10:00am; followed by a memorial service at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, to remember Ed, please consider a memorial donation to Southern Tier Hospice, or the First Baptist Church of Horseheads; or plant a Norway Spruce in his memory.
