Age 70, of Watkins Glen, passed May 16, 2020.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT THE BURDETT FIRE DEPT. ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 8, 2020. THE FAMILY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FROM 6-7PM; FOLLOWED BY A MEMORIAL SERVICE AT 7:00PM; REV. GEORGE NORTON OFFICIATING; A RECEPTION WILL FOLLOW.
He was born December 9, 1949 in Montour Falls, the son of Frank and Agnus Wyre. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gail; they had one daughter, Peggy Freeman-Sharkey (Douglas) of Burdett; and two sons, Edward Wyre of Florida and Mark Wyre of Hornby. Ed also had six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by seven sisters, Shirley, Frances, Penny, Wilma, Debbie, Karen, and Barbara; three brothers, Frank, David, and John; several nieces and nephews; and special niece Paula (Walter) Jerzeck and special nephew, Scott Sample. Ed also left behind his beloved cats, Duke and Daisey.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, and great-grand daughters, Ava Marie Collins and Aaniyah Jones.
Ed worked for the Village of Watkins Glen for 30 years before retiring. He called Bingo and Line Dances for several years for ABBOCCS at the Community Center in Watkins Glen.
