PROSPERI, Eunice Henck

Age 78, formerly of Hector, New York, died Thursday, September 17, 2009, in Dunn Loring, Virginia. Friends and family are invited to call Friday, September 25, 2009, from 6 -8 pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home at 212 East Fourth Street, Watkins Glen, New York. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 26, 2009 (her 56th wedding anniversary), at the Hector Presbyterian Church, Route 414, Hector, New York. Eunice was pre-deceased by her loving husband , Lloyd E. Prosperi, and is survived by her daughters Joy (James) Murray, of Canton, Ma., Patricia A. Prosperi , of Alexandria, Va., her sons Timothy (Rita) Prosperi, of Fairport, New York, and Daniel Prosperi, of San Diego, Ca., and her much beloved grandchildren, Audrey, Angela, Andrew, and Jenna, as well as her sisters Ruth Reitz, Grace Reiter, Emily Hoover, and her brothers Dr. Samuel Henck, and Robert Henck. Mrs. Prosperi was a resident of the Town of Hector for thirty-five years, and attended the Hector Presbyterian Church and was a member of the church choir. Mrs. Prosperi was a minister’s wife, a kindergarten teacher in Burdett and Watkins Glen, a Sunday School teacher, a Hector columnist, the author of “Martha Remembered,” a gardener, an avid reader, and often volunteered for many causes in the community. Mrs. Prosperi volunteered at the Hector library, was a member of the League of Women Voters, was the Co-Chairperson with her husband of the Schuyler County United Way Campaign in 1996, was the Co-Chairperson with her husband of the Schuyler County American Cancer Society Campaign for a year, assisted in bringing Hospice Care to Schuyler County, and worked with her husband on the committee for Hector’s Smith Park, which was dear to her heart.
