Elizabeth Wyckoff
Died Friday, July 27, 2007, in Arnot Ogden Medical Center. A Memorial Service will be held at the Hector Presbyterian Church on Saturday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Fausold leaves her husband, William; son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Helene Fausold of Watkins Glen; daughter and son-in-law, Kristina and Tucker Edmonds of Williamsburg, VA; daughter, Helen of Dryden, NY; grandchildren, Eleanor and John Fausold; sister-in-law, Priscilla Fausold Weir; and several nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Helen and James Wyckoff; and by her brother, James I. Wyckoff.
Mrs. Fausold was born in Rochester, NY and grew up in Perry, NY. She graduated from the Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr, PA and Bethany College, Bethany, WV. She and her husband were married in 1952 and lived in Watkins Glen, Valois, and Seneca Falls before returning to Valois and Horseheads.
She taught elementary vocal music in Seneca Falls before retiring in 1976. She was Past President of the Seneca County ARC, member and elder of the Hector Presbyterian Church, and member, Secretary and Vice President of the Board of Directors of H.O.M.E.S. Inc. in Ithaca. In 1995, she was awarded the Ron Mack Lifetime Service Award by H.O.M.E.S. Inc. for "years of service as a volunteer on behalf of improved services for people with disabilities." She was also a member of Schuyler County ARC.
Frances was the embodiment of "Class" with a capital "C." She was proud of her Dutch heritage and took great pride in her family and their accomplishments. The community is the richer for her presence. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hector Presbyterian Church, Unity House in Ithaca, Schuyler ARC or a charity of one's choice.
