Frank “Anthony” DeSarno IV
Age 23, of Watkins Glen, passed away as the result of an automobile accident on April 20, 2013. He is survived by his father, Frank “J.R.” DeSarno III (Cheryl Spencer); mother, Brenda DeSarno (friend Darlene Sommer); paternal grandparents, Frank A. “Junior” and Joyce DeSarno; sister and brother-in-law, Julie (DeSarno) and Alexander Kelly; best friend & fiancée, Katherine Strawser; aunts and uncles, Robin (DeSarno) and Jack Bloise, Sheree Goodwin, Lissa Seymour, Mike Fivie, and Joseph Fivie; and cousins. He was predeceased by both maternal grandparents, Herbert “Bud” and Beverly Fivie; and both paternal great-grandparents, Kingston and Mary Phelps. Frank “Anthony” worked with his father and grandfather since he was a small boy at the family owned DeSarno’s Body Shop in Watkins Glen. He loved cars and fixing them. He always carried the odd bolt or screw in his pocket, in case he could fix something with it! He also enjoyed the outdoors, especially the lake; boating, fishing or any water sport. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, bon fires, and carpentry. His favorite place was Mr. Chicken for lunch; also he took pleasure in spending time with friends and his dog, Blue. A friend said, “If you REALLY got in a jam or stuck, Frank was the one you would call!” He was good at anything he did with his hard working hands. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., on Thursday, April 25, from 4:00pm-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11:00am at the First Presbyterian Church in Watkins Glen.
