Frederick F. Stadelmaier
Age 63, of Odessa, NY, passed away at home after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on March 4, 2022.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday (March 9) from 3pm-6pm; followed by a funeral service at 6:00pm. He will be buried at Pleasant View Cemetery in Reading Center in the spring.
Fred was born in Elmira on December 10, 1958, the son of the late Frederick W. and Stella (Piecuch) Stadelmaier. He graduated from Southside High School in 1977 and worked for Elm Chevrolet and Clifford Chevrolet, and retired from Panelogic, Inc.
Fred could fix anything on a car and was always ready to help his friends and family with their automobile repairs. Over the years, he enjoyed events with the 4-Wheel Drive Club, attending NHRA drag racing events, and riding the many Harley-Davidson motorcycles he owned throughout his life.
He was predeceased by his father in 1975, his mother in 1985, sister Gale Stahl in 2014, and brother-in-law Robert Shaw in 2007.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Sharon (Edsall) Stadelmaier; daughters Melody (Jamie) Lachut of Horseheads and Ashton (Kyle) Dillon of Dundee; four sisters, Norine Shaw of York, PA, Julia (Richard) Taylor of Pine City, Catherine Stadelmaier of Wellsburg, and Christine Stadelmaier of Elmira; two granddaughters, whom are the Light of his Life, Rory Shea Lachut and Peyton Michelle Dillon. He is also survived by Emily (Justin Taylor) Wahrendorf and her daughter Josselyn Barrington; nieces, nephews, and many special cousins.
