Gene Lohrke
Age 75, of Southport, passed away November 28, 2017 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jean (Bargesser) Lohrke; children, Billy (Michelle) Lohrke of Pine City, and Kathy (Roy) Clark of Pine City; grandchildren, Brian, Sabrina, Christian, Karissa, Jennifer, and Justyna; great-grandchildren, Baylee, Ryder, Joshua and Logan; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law; Joyce (Michael) Flanagan of Southport; J. Daniel Bargesser of Pine City, and Robert (Marie) Bargesser of Horseheads, and nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends. Gene worked at Flickinger’s and later Thompson and Johnson as a mechanic. After retirement, he enjoyed working on small engines from his home garage. He was a volunteer fireman for Southport Fire Department. He also enjoyed his morning coffee at Light’s Bakery with his many friends. Family and friends will be received at Caywood’s Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport/Elmira on Friday (Dec. 1st) between the hours of 4-6pm; followed by a funeral service at 6:15pm and a private burial later at his family’s convenience. A reception following funeral services will be announced.
