Gladys Wilma Bush
Age 83, of Watkins Glen, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2007 at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls, NY.
Born in Catherine, NY to William and Pearl Cady Lanphear, Gladys became the first woman bus driver in 1951 for the Watkins Glen Central School District and continued to drive for 18 years. She and her husband where also past co-owners of Mr. Chicken Restaurant in Watkins Glen.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family; with burial at Hector Union Cemetery, Burdett, NY.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband Otis Bush in 1995; a son Richard C. Bush in 2003, and previously by three brothers, Perry, Frank and Richard Personius, and two sisters, Helen Personius Lanphear and Francis Personius Rappleye. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who is lovingly survived by four children, Charles (Connie) Bush, of Rochester Hills, Mich., George Bush, of Watkins Glen, Wilma (Philip) Bond, of Hector, and Judy (Harold) Forney, of Hector; sister-in-law, Lillian Personius; daughter-in-law, Caryl Bush; and 17 grandchildren, Robin, Tad and Kari Bond, Christine, Michele and Tammy Bush, Richard, Craig, Heather and Nicole Gallow, Lori, Lorraine and Charles Bush, Richard, Jodi, Tyre, and J. Carter Bush; and also 31 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
