Grace P. Ameigh
Age 92, formerly Rock Stream, NY, where she made her home for 61 years, and formerly of Montour Falls, passed away in the comfort of her daughters home, on Saturday, May 21, 2016. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Wednesday (May 25) from 3:00pm-5:00pm; followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 5:00pm. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date at Rock Stream Cemetery. Grace was born on February 16, 1924 in Tyrone, NY to Raymond and Mildred Wood Perry. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1940. She was a member of Schuyler County 4H and was a 4H leader for 13 years. Grace served as secretary for Rock Stream Cemetery for 15 years, and worked for chartering and recording many area cemeteries. She was also a charter member of Jo-Ho Genealogy group doing extensive research for family genealogy. Grace enjoyed gardening and working in the vineyards of area farmers. She retired from Spring Ledge Farms in 1985 after 30 years employment. She was predeceased by an infant son and daughter; and husband Earl H. Ameigh; and sisters Celia Bowdoin and Doris Pipes; and brother, Alfred Perry. She is survived by daughter, Elizabeth (Joe) Matwiejow of Watkins Glen; sons, Robert (Donna) Ameigh of Dundee, and David (Estella) Ameigh of Dundee, NY; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; 5 brothers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a former member of the Tyrone United Methodist Church and attended the Rock Stream Presbyterian Church.
