James Elkins

James Elkins, 60, of Hector NY, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on September 9, 2010.

Jim was born in Montour Falls on May 27, 1950. After graduating from Watkins Glen High School he earned a B.S. in Mathematics at SUNY Binghamton. Jim became Vice President of Digicomp Research, in Ithaca, where he contributed to a wide range of hardware and software development projects.

Jim is survived by his wife Carolyn; children Jessica, Raina, and Jamie; parents Bill and Irene Elkins; sisters, Betty Tiede, Alice Mischke, Mary Redfield and Ruth Walters; and nieces and nephews.

Jim will be remembered by so many people because he had so much to share. He was a student of spirituality, an analytical colleague, a wonderful father and husband, and a kind and gentle person. Everyone he met was a little wiser for having known him. He was also ridiculously good at puzzles.
