James A. Munroe, Age 82, of Hector and Newark, N.Y., passed away April 4, 2018.
In honoring his life, a celebration of his life will be held at the Valois-Logan-Hector Fire Department on May 26, 2018, beginning at 12 p.m. Burial will be held at Logan Cemetery in Burdett at a later date.
James was an accomplished, self-taught musician and loved old time music. He was a member of the former Crooked Lake Fiddle Club in Penn Yan. He was also a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church and Odessa Conservation Club. He worked for 37 ½ years as a machinist at Shepard-Niles in Montour Falls.
He is survived by wife, Nellie Munroe of Dundee; son, Charles J. Munroe (Kim Young) of Dundee; brothers John Munroe and Richard Munroe (Ann); and sister, Patricia Chaffie, all of Hector; partner, Jane Weiland of Newark, N.Y.; Selma Foote of Beaver Dams and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents James and Louise (Johns) Munroe; and infant daughter, Heather Rose Munroe.
