James W. Rogers
Age 95, of Watkins Glen, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Seneca View Nursing Facility, Montour Falls, NY. The family will receive friends and relatives at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, Wednesday, from 6-8 p.m.; a Funeral Service will be held following visitation services at 8:00 p.m.; Rev. Robert Stuart officiating; burial at Pleasant View Cemetery, Reading Center, NY.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian in 1994; father, William Rogers; mother, Nellie Caster; stepfather, Roy Caster; sister, Catherine Glossenger; and sons, Kenneth, Stewart, George, and Larry Rogers. Survivors include a daughter, Lillian (Bob) Perry; and stepdaughter, Ruth Simpson, all of Watkins Glen; nine grandchildren, Connie (Rob) Wrenn of Horseheads, James (Ronda) Rogers of Breeseport, Lisa Cole of Elmira, Joseph (Sherri) Rogers of Elmira, Steven (Betty) Rogers of Montour Falls, Pamela Trank of Big Flats, Donald (Julie) Perry of Watkins Glen, David Perry of Dundee, Brian Perry of Watkins Glen; five step grandchildren, John Simpson of Beaver Dams, Frank (Judy) Simpson of Allentown, PA, Carol (Frank) Caslin of Raleigh, NC, Donna (Dave) Rexford of Slocum, AL, Mike (Chris) Simpson of Hudson, FL; sisters-in-law, Grace (Ed) Ballard of Gillette, PA, and Barbara Bell, of Watkins Glen; daughter-in-law, Ruth Simpson of Elmira; 15 great-grandchildren, 30 step great-grandchildren; and good friends, Pearl Tomassi, Wanda Rowan, and Howard and Yvonne Murray.
