James Russel

James H. Russell, 74, formerly of Odessa and Alpine, NY passed away on March 22, 2016 in Daytona Beach, Florida. Mr. Russell was born in Montour Falls, NY in 1941. He enlisted in the US Navy immediately after high school. He moved to Florida in 1995. James served in the Vietnam War and was a member of many clubs and associations including the US Navy Sea Bees from 1957-1970 and VFW post 1590. He was also a lifetime member of Cooties Pup tent #6, Eagles of Holly Hill, and DAV. He was preceded in death by his son James H. Russell, Jr. of Lebanon TN. He was also predeceased by his wives, Betty and Delores Russell. He is survived by his wife Sandra; daughter Carolyn (Arthur) Sullivan of Edgewater, FL; brother Charles (Sandra) Russell of Watkins Glen, NY; and sisters Ruth (Michael) Kirchenstiner of Tampa; and Mary (Frank) Carey of Montour Falls, NY. A graveside committal service will be held Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 2:00pm at Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg.
