Janice L. Freese, 93, formerly of Burdett, NY passed away peacefully on Nov. 6, 2014. Born in Logan, NY, she was a lifelong resident of Schuyler County. The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Thursday, Nov. 13th from 12 noon-1:00pm; followed by a funeral service at 1:00pm and burial at Hector Presbyterian Cemetery. She was predeceased by her parents DeForest and Edith Nichols, her husband Linford S. Freese, and grandson Scott D. Freese. She is survived by son Lynn (Sue) Freese of Oxford, NC, grandson Brett (Stephanie) Freese and great-granddaughter Violet, of Raleigh, NC. Also surviving are great-grandaughters Sandi and Kathy Freese, and great-great-grandchildren Gio, Bella, and Valerie, all of Arizona. Besides being a homemaker, mother, helping with the farm chores, she also worked in the cafeteria at Watkins Glen Central School, Wickham's store in Hector and retired from the main office at the Willard Psychiatric Center. She was active in Farm Bureau, enjoyed traveling and the Burdett Craft Group. She and her husband were active in the Schuyler County Humane Society and the Elmira Dog Training Club. She had resided at the Catherine Court Senior Apartments in Montour in recent years before moving to Oxford, North Carolina January first of this year.
