Age 43, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2007 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family.


Jeff was born October 7, 1963 in Bath, NY. He founded in 1991 The Gold Mine jewelry store, with locations in Watkins Glen, Bath and Hornell. Jeff served his community by dedicating time to the Watkins-Montour Lions Club, serving as past president; the Schuyler County Promotions Council; Relay for Life; and a sponsor and organizer of Thunder In The Glen. He was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church in Watkins Glen; and lovingly joined his three daughters as a member of the Indian Princess Daughter and Father Organization and was a “Dancing Dad” with the Filippetti Academy of Dance.


Jeff is survived by his loving wife, Jamie. They celebrated their 20th Anniversary one week ago, on March 14th. He is also survived by three beautiful daughters, Samantha, Meredith and Noelle; his father and step-mother, Bud and Patricia Johnson, of Batavia, NY; mother and step-father, Sue and Larry Bennett, of Bath, NY; sisters, Jackie (Myra) Johnson, of Raleigh, NC, Julie (Ed) Chinn, of St. Petersburg, FL; half sisters, Stephanie (Fred) Hamilton, and Tricia (Kevin) Hamilton, all of Batavia, NY; step brothers, Mark (Deb) Bennett and Todd (Michelle) Bennett, all of Bath, NY; and step-sister, Teri (Howie) Potter, of Bath, NY.


The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Monday, March 26, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Decatur St., Watkins Glen, on Tuesday at 10:00am; with The Rev. Paul Bonacci as celebrant; and burial and committal services held at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Watkins Glen.


Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the National Institute of Health, c/o Neurological Center, 9000 Rockville Pike, Bethesda, MD 20892.
