John R. Oliver

Age 75, of Co. Rt. 16, Beaver Dams passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at home, the same day as his brother Ray A. Oliver Sr.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Saturday (October 16) from 2-4pm and 6-7pm; with a funeral service following at 7:00pm. Burial will be Monday at 10:00am at the Baker-Miller Cemetery, CR-16 & Donovan Hill Rd., Beaver Dams, NY with full military honors.

John honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Haskell Construction of Elmira Heights and sold used car parts at his home in Beaver Dams.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Oliver; children, Doreen (Stephen) Mack of Lansing, Steven (Mindy) Oliver Sr. of Beaver Dams, Timothy (Alice) Oliver, Auburn WA. Regina (Donald) Simpson of Beaver Dams; nine grandchildren, Brian (Becky) Taylor, Jennifer (Mike) Lynch, Doug Snyder, Steven (Brittany) Oliver Jr., Heather (Ryan) Romanos, Tamara Bradley, Angela (PJ) Smith, Jeannette (Shaun) Simpson, Jordannmarie Simpson; 15 great grandchildren and a brother and several sisters.
