John Patrick Powers

62, of Latrobe, PA, lost his fight with cancer on July 14, 2007. John was the son of Walter and Gertrude Powers and husband of the late Sandra Powers.

John is survived by his sister, Mary (Russell) Conway, of Frostburg, MD; two children, Ron and Susan Powers, both of Manitoba, CN; four grandchildren, Eric and Austin Powers and Cayla and Lloyd Nelson. Other relatives include Peggy and Ken Field, of Watkins Glen; Maggie and Kevin Edgley, of Burdett, Kevin and Martha Field, of Burdett, Katie and Jeff Welsh, of Ronks, PA, and Karen and James Comerford, of Lancaster, PA.

John “Pat” grew up in Catonsville, MD; where he attended St. Marks School, Mt. St. Joseph’s High School in Baltimore, MD and LaSalle College in Philadelphia where he graduated in 1967. Pat received his Master Degree in Business Administration at Mt. St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, MD.

Pat retired from Westfield Insurance Group in 2004 as a Financial Analyst.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am, Thursday, July 19, at St. Mary’s of the Lake Church, Watkins Glen, NY; burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
