Joyce C. Francis, age 85, of Montour Falls and Poplar Point, Dundee, passed away on May 18, 2022.
The family will receive friends at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Tuesday (May 24) from 2-4pm; followed by a memorial service at 4:00pm.
Joyce was born September 18, 1936 to the late Pete and Clara Clark.
Joyce is survived by her children Pat (Daryl) Avery of Montour Falls, Jackie (Guy) Close of San Diego, CA, Carol Zigl of Plum Tree, IN, Jim Burnham (Laurie Sampson) of Newfield, NY and Joyce Burnham (Les Baldwin) of Watkins Glen, NY; a twin sister Joan Frisk of Montour Falls, NY; grandchildren Traci Fitzgerald, Jacob Close and Maria Zigl: great-grandchild Keagan Fitzgerald; special stepdaughter Sharon (Scott) Slater and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Joyce was also predeceased by her husband Bill Francis and her brothers Jack, John, Jerry and Joe Clark, her son-in-law Jerry Zigl and her brother-in-law Joe Wade.
Mom taught us the importance of family. Nothing made her happier than a busy, loud, “everyone should be here”, family gathering and it didn’t matter the occasion-it could be a holiday, birthday or just because she thought it was time to get together.
