Kenneth J. Bubacz

Age 73, of Elmira, passed away surrounded by his loving family at home on Sunday, July 24, 2011.

The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Tuesday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00am; Rev. James Crupi officiating; followed by burial at Hanlon Hill Cemetery in Gillett, PA.

Ken was born at home on Erie St. in Elmira on January 8, 1938; the son of the late A. John and Catherine Bubacz. He grew up with his eight brothers and sisters on Terry Hill Road in Alpine. Ken worked as an Estimator for Robinson Building Materials in Odessa, until retiring after 49 years, 5 weeks and 3 days. Ken was also a member of the Christian Faith Fellowship church of Elmira.

Ken was predeceased by his wife Betty (Chandler) Bubacz on June 1,2005. He was also predeceased by his parents; sister Loraine, and brothers, Andrew and William, brother-in-law Robert Soper and special "daughter"/sister-in-law, Sarah Bargesser.

He is survived by 3 daughters; Tammy (Kurt) Traub of Clark Summit, PA; Annette Bubacz of Elmira, and Shelly McClure of Elmira; brothers, Daniel (Carole) Bubacz of Mount Joy, PA; Frank (Joyce) Bubacz of South Carolina, Donald (Elizabeth) Bubacz of Elmira, and Matthew (Jane) Bubacz of Horseheads; sister, Barbara Soper of Gillett, PA, special brother-in-law Daniel Bargesser of Pine City, NY;special nephew and nieces, Todd (Alissa) Bargesser, Tracy (Kyle) Chedzoy, Teri (Mark) O'Dell, Michael J. Olmstead; 6 grandchildren, Stephanie, Megan, Todd, Sandy, Jonathan, and Brittany; and 4 great-grandchildren Deenna, Dominic, Steven and Timothy; special great nephews, Michael A. Olmstead, Brady Bargesser, Benjamin Chedzoy and Christopher O'Dell. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Betty and Ken Bubacz to Southern Tier Hospice.
