Kenneth Eldridge

August 28, 1952 — October 20, 2018

Kenneth W. Eldridge, age 66, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018. Kenny was born in Montour Falls on August 28, 1952 to Leon and Millie Eldridge.

Kenny worked for Yates County Highway Department as a young man. He then worked for the Labor Union out of Elmira. Kenny then worked for Schuyler Hospital as a maintenance mechanic for many years. His final job was at Davis Road for Pathways in Corning as a maintenance mechanic. Kenny was a skilled, self-taught tradesman. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix! He took great pride in his work.

Kenny was an animal lover and took wonderful care of his many pets. He also loved the water, whether it was the ocean or the many beautiful lakes he visited. He enjoyed reading and learning, particularly about history, anthropology, science, and expository teachings of the Bible. He was a lifelong learner. Kenny also really enjoyed music, especially classic country and rock.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 40 years and the love of his life, Mary, and their children, Julie (Sam) Mireles, Dawn Gray, Christopher (Kirana) Eldridge, and Paul (Cynthia) Eldridge. He found great joy in and was very proud of his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Kenny also had faithful friends and neighbors who brought a lot of joy to his life.

His family would like to thank the amazingly kind and compassionate nurses, aides and doctors at the Arnot Ogden Hospital for their care of Kenny in his final days. Thank you, also, to his nurse and aide at Seneca View for their care of Kenny on his last day. We are very grateful!

According to his wishes, there are no services. You may express condolences to the family or “Light a Candle of Remembrance” online at www.RoyceChedzoy .com. Arrangements entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.
