Age 79, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Watkins Glen on September 11, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Greta L. Eldridge; children, Sandra (Brian) Robertson of Trumansburg, Nannette Evans of Horseheads, Kenneth (Mary) Eldridge of Watkins Glen, April Spena of Elmira, Pamela Thomas of Rochester, Karl (Brenda) Eldridge of West Virginia, Nicole Eldridge (Toby Cary) of Watkins Glen; step children, Bert, Timothy, Jeffery (Joy), Kathy (Jimmy), Edward (Cindy),Wayne(Cindy) Folts, all of Georgia, Gretchen (Chris) Ploucha of Burdett, Connie (Dave) Falanga of Watkins Glen, and Richard Mathews of South Carolina; 33 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Gene (Norma) Eldridge, Kenneth (Edith) Eldridge, Antoinette Whitehead (Tom), and Linda Nemeth and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and relatives. He was predeceased by sons Leon K. Eldridge III and Paul Eldridge, and twin sister Patricia Wood. Leon worked as an Instrument Mechanic for Corning, Inc. for 43 years. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, on Thursday from 12:00pm-2:00pm; followed by funeral service at 2:00pm and burial at Sugar Hill Cemetery.
