Lewis L. Dunham, Jr. age 67 of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He was born November 15, 1949 to Lewis and Janice Dunham in Elmira, New York. Lew graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1967. He went on to serve in the US Army. He is survived by his wife Donnalee, who he lovingly referred to as “the chick”; and their children, Hank (Gretchen) Dunham of Coeur d’Alene Idaho, William (Donna) Sumner of Gurnee, Illinois, Dianna (Chris) Betts of Montour Falls; and many talented and good-looking grandchildren. He mastered the ability to enjoy the simple things in life. Campfires, good beer, fireworks, and Christmas were among his favorites. He would take every opportunity to shoot off a cherry bomb when no one was looking. He enjoyed Seneca Lake and sailing. He loved cooking for his family, and his tacos were famous with family and friends from coast to coast. Most of all he was a happy guy with a huge smile. Lew did not want people to be sad at his passing but instead to take the time to enjoy the simple things as he did so often. His wife, daughter Dianna, and family would like to have friends and family stop by their home located at 2568 County Road 7, Montour Falls for a celebration of Lew’s life on Saturday, September 9th starting at 1pm and enjoy some food, a cocktail, and raise a glass to Lew.
