Margaret A. Lewis
69, of Hector went home to be with the Lord on May 11, 2021, after a courageous battle with an extended illness.
Marzie was born in Rochester, NY to Russell and Jean Parsons. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School and was employed at Precision Filters Inc., in Ithaca for more than 30 years.
She attended Watkins Glen Presbyterian Church and served on the worship and mission committees, was a member of the Presbyterian Women, a former Elder and a dedicated member of both the bell and church choir.
Marzie loved music and singing, played piano, and attended many musical church functions locally. She was an avid reader, loved bird watching, and tending her flower gardens. She had a special place in her heart for animals and especially loved her loyal companion, Foxy Lady.
Marzie loved her children and grandchildren and kept track of all that was going on from afar, while still working full time. She took great pride in her occupation and enjoyed her days with her wonderful co-workers. Her happiest days were shopping trips with family and friends, singing in the choir on Sunday mornings, indulging in massive bowls of ice cream, and searching for eccentric scarves, jewelry, and clothing.
Marzie is survived by her two daughters, Skye(Matthew) Maya of Erie, PA; Aislinn (Brandon) Holmes of Montross, VA; a brother, Dale (Vicki) Parsons of Santa Ana, CA; six grandchildren, Shaye, Bryce, Everly, Rawley (Maya) Leah, Jade (Holmes); nieces, Hali (Drew) Shallahamer, Kira (Gabe) Fernandez; nephews, Jordan (Tassi) Parsons, Todd Parsons; and her beloved Aunt, Delores Skinner (Hebert) of Rochester, as well as, several lifelong friends.
Marzie was a faithful child of Jesus. A memorial service will be held in celebration of her life, Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11am at the First Presbyterian Church in Watkins Glen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ARC Veterinary Clinic, 6549 SR-227, Trumansburg, NY 14886 in Marzie’s honor. Arrangements entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home.
