Marilyn E. Fitch
Age 82, of Lodi, passed away peacefully January 26, 2021.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Kent and brother, Alan Marsh. She is survived by her sons, David Fitch of Hector, Thomas Fitch (Brenda Warren-Fitch) of Burdett, and Mark (Charmaine) Fitch of Horseheads; brother Martin “Marty” Marsh of Lodi; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Marilyn was born on May 23, 1938, the daughter of Thomas and Beatrice Marsh. She grew up in a farm family, which she loved, with two older brothers, with many fond memories and stories to tell. Marilyn was a loving wife and mom to three “very busy” boys. We always knew when we had crossed “the line” with her, but that smile of hers always let us know it would be all right! She worked as a Registered Nurse at Willard State Hospital, with a break to work at a health clinic on the Navajo Reservation in the late sixties, until her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed many interests, from home winemaking with her best friend Pat Marsh, to traveling, here in the USA, Mexico, and Europe. She enjoyed playing piano, organ, and singing in choir. There are also many fond memories of entertaining friends and family, cross-word puzzles and porch sitting with mother-in-law Charlotte, at the lake, and camping with husband Kent and sons, all across the country. She also enjoyed the ocean, whether in the Outer Banks, Texas, or Florida.
A graveside memorial service and celebration will be held at a later date at Seneca Union Cemetery in Valois and will be announced. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen.
