Marjorie Overhiser
91, of Beaver Dams, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013. The family will receive friends and relatives from 2pm-4pm on Sunday (Feb. 3rd) at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen; and Monday from 10am-11am at the Beaver Dams United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11:00am at the Beaver Dams United Methodist Church, Co. Rt. 19, Beaver Dams. Marjorie was born on January 14, 1922 in Watkins Glen; the daughter of the late Lewis and Leonta Beardsley. She was a longtime member of the Beaver Dams United Methodist Church, and was a member of the choir and UM Women’s Group. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School Class of 1939, and was a member of the “Watkins Glen ‘39ers” group which met every month. She was a proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; raising four children. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer Overhiser in 1996. Survivors include her children and their spouses: Edward and Rosemarie Overhiser of Randallstown, MD, Linden and Lois Overhiser of Rochester, Marcia and Peter Kasprzyk of Beaver Dams, and James Overhiser and Julie Nucci of Owego; brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Jackie Beardsley of Massachusetts, and Lewis “Scoop” and Rhoda Beardsley of Virginia; nine grandchildren and their spouses: Marjorie Overhiser-Fine, Joseph (Sumi) Overhiser, Lisa (Damon) Matacchiera, Linden J. (Rachel) Overhiser, Jill (Thomas) Wendela, Paul (Darci) Kasprzyk, Ryann Tuthill, Coco Heitmann and Anna Heitmann; also seven great-grandchildren.
