Martha Dobell

Age 70, of Odessa, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 6, 2009 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility, Montour Falls surrounded by her loving family.

Martha was born in Montour Falls on November 29, 1938; the daughter of Lloyd and Alice States. She is survived by her mother, Alice States of Odessa; children, James Dobell (Amy French) of Horseheads, Sharon (Robert) Zimmer of Montour Falls, William (Cecilia) Dobell of Lancaster, PA, Donna (Carl) Jenkins of Horseheads, Kevin Dobell of Odessa, and Kenneth Dobell of Odessa; sisters and brothers, Alice (LaVern) Potter of Odessa, James (Carlene) States of Odessa, Lloyd (Ann) States of Burdett, and Kenneth (Judy) States of Charleston, SC; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her father Lloyd States; husband Raymond Dobell in 1990; and son Raymond W. Dobell in 1993.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Tuesday (March 10) from 6-8pm at Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A funeral service will directly follow at 8:00pm; Rev. Dwayne Followell will officiate; interment and committal services will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
