Matthew Peter McGarry
age 41, of Montour Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
He was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia on August 5, 1979 to Thomas and Marjorie (Cardone) McGarry. He was predeceased by his older brother Dan in 1999. Matt graduated from Odessa-Montour High School and Corning Community College.
He was a volunteer at the Watkins Glen Public Library and an avid sports fan especially the Buffalo Bills.
Matt had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor despite having Muscular Dystrophy and being limited to a wheelchair. He was an inspiration to many friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Monday (April 5) from 4pm-6pm. A private funeral mass will be held at St. Mary’s of the Lake Catholic Church in Watkins Glen. Committal services and burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY on Wed. (April 7) at 1:00pm.
