Nan Carey

Carey, Nan L.

Age 65, died on March 20, 2017 in Dallas, Texas, losing her battle with lung cancer. She was born on November 9, 1951 in Watkins Glen, New York. Nan was the daughter of the late Harold R. Carey of Watkins Glen and Dorothy Mahoney (James) of Pine City, New York. She had a brother Michael (Mickey) Carey of Frisco; a niece, Jamie Lyn Biedermann and 2 great-nieces and a great-nephew, all from Dallas; and nephew Ryan Michael Carey of Frisco, Texas. She graduated from Watkins Glen Central High School in 1969. She attended Corning Community College in 1970-71. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1980 where she worked at the Frito Lay Corporation in Plano, Texas and several years for a prominent attorney firm in Irving, Texas. In her spare time, she was an avid reader of books and spent many hours in different public libraries. She also enjoyed working on puzzles of all kinds. She had many friends in the City of Dallas and she will be missed by them and her family.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. St., Watkins Glen, on Saturday, July 15, 2017 from 1:00pm-3:00pm; followed by a celebration of her life at 3:00pm at the funeral home; Rev. Mike Kelly officiating; interment at a later date at Fairview Cemetery in Painted Post. The family will provide flowers.
