Nancy A. Adams
55, of Alpine, NY, passed away August 23, 2016 after courageously battling cancer. Nancy was born October 1, 1960 to Gary M. and Theresa (Mattoon) Adams. She was a 1978 graduate of Midlakes High School and a 1980 graduate of CCFL. In 1986, she graduated with a degree in horticulture from Cornell University. While a student at Cornell University, she was hired to work at Cornell Plantations. She worked there for twenty-five years and took great pride in making the University a beautiful place. To this day, she could still recite the Latin names of hundreds of plants and trees. While at Plantations, she met and married her soul mate and love of her life, Richard Paige. Her life was full with many close friends for whom her husband and family will be forever thankful. Nancy leaves behind her beloved husband of twenty-one years, Richard Paige, of Alpine, NY. Also, her mother Theresa Adams Baker of Clifton Springs, NY and sisters Linda (Dennis) Chateauneuf of Charlestown, MA., Janice (Michael) Driscoll of Clifton Springs, NY, and Holly Adams (Jeff Linsner) of Clifton Springs, NY; her brothers-in-law Harvey (Ruth) Paige and Rudy (Wilma) Paige, both of Ohio; and many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was welcomed into heaven by her father Gary M. Adams, and her mother and father-in-law Violet and Jacob Paige, as well as her beloved pets that had already crossed the Rainbow Bridge. Nancy was a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox, the greatest partner in a game of Trivial Pursuit, and your willing cohort in a practical joke. She was a champion of all creatures great and small and devoted many hours to the Humane Society of Schuyler County. Nancy’s family would like to say a loving thank you to the wonderful and caring staff and volunteers at the Oncology Department at Cayuga Medical Center. Also they wish to express their gratitude to Care First, for the wonderful hospice care she received.
