Nancy J. (Brubaker) Hunter
75, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on May 30, 2011.
Nancy was born on July 15, 1935 in Altoona, PA, the daughter of the late Donald L. and Martha (Beamer) Brubaker. Nancy graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1953, and earned her bachelor’s in education at Keuka College and her master’s at Syracuse University.
She was predeceased by her parents, husband Theodore W. Hunter, and brother Donald G. Brubaker. Nancy is survived by brothers John “Jack”, and Jim (Gloria) Brubaker, of Watkins Glen; sister Edith (Allan) Berry of Alpharetta, Georgia, many nieces, nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews. Nancy taught at B.C. Cate Elementary in Montour Falls and worked at Seneca Lodge with her family. Nancy was an avid reader, had a great love for organic foods, and loved to take many daily walks. The highlight of her day was her brother Jack picking her up from The Falls Home to share dinner with their brother Jim at the special table.
The family will receive friends at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, from 5-7pm on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. A reception will follow at Seneca Lodge.
