Normand M. DeRaiche
Age 62, of Stamp Road, Watkins Glen, passed away on April 19, 2012.
The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen on Tuesday (April 24th) from 6-8pm; with a memorial service following at 8pm. Normand was born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada on June 5, 1949, the son of Mike and Florence (Dumais) DeRaiche. He is survived by his loving wife Denise; children, Neil (Amy) DeRaiche of Hector, Kenneth DeRaiche of Horseheads, and Jason DeRaiche (Jaime Bauman) of Interlaken; step-children, Kenneth Parrotte (Deanne Yasenchak) of Cayuta, and Michael (Sherry) Parrotte of North Carolina; brother and sisters, Diane (Robert) Connell of Horseheads, Rick DeRaiche of California, and Julie Anders of Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Katelyn, Alexis and Brianna DeRaiche, Ciera Babcock, Bailey Hazen, and Alana Parrotte. Normand was a retired school bus operator for Watkins Glen Central School. He was a co-founder, administrator and coach for the CVSA soccer league for 25 years. He was also a co-founder and coach for the soccer program at Watkins Glen Central School. For over 20 years he enjoyed playing Santa Claus at the Arnot-Mall. His career also included working for Amway and Brady Supplies. His hobbies included attending auctions, model trains, painting, and he was a fan of pro-ice hockey.
