Norvelle "Bud" VanWormer

Norvelle “Bud” George VanWormer

Age 88, formerly of Burdett, NY, passed away Feb. 14, 2020.

Bud was born on February 26, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio to Henrietta (Pearson) VanWormer and George VanWormer

He married Violet Lorraine Usher on July 29, 1950. They raised six sons and one daughter, Larry, Ronnie, David, Glen, Clinton, Dale and Nancy.

Bud became a respected welder, and his career took him to the west coast where he would spend ten years of his life in California as an Iron worker. In 1965, he would return to New York and the beautiful scenery he so dearly missed.

For many years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and anything to do with the outdoors.
He was known for his desire to help others, witty personality and strong work ethics.
Bud was preceded in death by four sons, Glen, David, Dale and Ronnie, his daughter-in-law Cheryl, and great-granddaughter Lilly.

He is survived by his wife Violet; sons, Larry and Clinton (Laurie); and daughter Nancy (Bill); 21 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 29, 2020 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2590 State Route 414, Watkins Glen, NY at 1:00pm.
