WAUGH, Pauline M.
WATKINS GLEN: 100, long time resident of Watkins Glen and recently of Pine City, NY, passed away at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls, NY. She was the oldest daughter of Ida Pearl and Burr Morse. Pauline was predeceased by her husband, Walter, in 1977, her brothers, Carl and Harold, sisters, Irene Sheradin, Esther DeWind, Ida Willson, Helen Kneut, Clara Hoven, daughter-in-law, Barbara Waugh and son-in-law, James Ford. She is survived by a daughter, June Ford of Pine City, NY; son, Wayne Waugh of Remsen, NY, and son, Walter (JoAnn) of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Diane Stanton, Steven Ford (Christy Alchimowicz), and Robert (Patricia) Waugh; great-grandchildren, Mallory Stanton (James Nichols), Cheri (Chris) Conklin and Alex, Wade, Courtney, Sara, Robert, Kathryn Waugh; great-great grandchildren, John Diveris and Noah Conklin; and a sister-in-law, Mabel Morse of Michigan and good friend, Donna Wade. Pauline is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Pauline was a true giver of her time and energy. She and her husband, Walter, worked many years as true partners farming their land on the County Line road. Around 1973 they moved to a home on route 14. She worked at the Watkins Glen School District Cafeteria 10 years full time and 2 years part time. From there she moved to Decatur Street. She loved it there because she could walk all over town. During this time she volunteered at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility for about 10 years. Pauline was a Deacon in the Watkins Glen First Presbyterian Church for 6 years and was honored by the church in 2008, receiving the Woman of Faith Award. In 1991 and 1994 she was honored by the SCSCC as the Senior Citizen of the year. In 2010, Pauline moved to Park Terrace Apartments in Pine City. A very special 'thank you' to Dr. Blanche Borzell for all her loving care of Pauline. The family will receive friends and relatives at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home at 212 East Fourth Street, Watkins Glen on Saturday, Sept 6th, 2014 from 11am-12pm; followed by a Memorial Service there at 12 noon. A reception in her memory will be held at the First Presbyterian Church following the services. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to The First Presbyterian Church, 520 N.
