Age 82, passed away Wednesday, July 8 at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center after a brief illness surrounded by her family. Phyllis was born on December 20, 1932 to Philip and Alberta (Guild) Hager of Montour Falls. Phyllis was married to Andrew (Jud) Gardner and celebrated 64 years with him on July 7, 2015. She was survived by her 5 children and spouses, Douglas (Gayle) Gardner of Watkins Glen, NY, Philip (Lorraine) Gardner of Cortland, NY, Karen (James) Slaven, Jr. of Elmira, NY, Cynthia (Marc) Salamino of Freeville, NY and Nancy (Mickey) Fraboni of Watkins Glen, NY. In addition to her children, she was also survived by 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, her sisters Betty (Robert) McNutt of Barefoot Bay, FL and Nancy (Andy) Anderson of Satellite Beach, FL and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Alice Robedieu and Patricia Meehan.

Phyllis retired from the Schuyler County Department of Social Services as Accounting Supervisor after 27 years. Upon her retirement, she spent her summers working at the Watkins Glen State Park for 16 years. A faithful communicant of St James Episcopal Church, a talented knitter, loving wife, mother, grandmother and Nani, she will be dearly missed.

The family will receive visitors at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St, Watkins Glen on Saturday, July 11th from 11am to 1pm with funeral service following at 1pm at the funeral home, and burial at Highland Cemetery, Odessa.
