R. David Kendall
Age 75, of Hector, passed away on April 16, 2013. The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the Hector Presbyterian Church; followed by a funeral service at 2:00pm; Rev. James Yao will officiate. A reception will be held at the church following the funeral service. David was predeceased by his parents Ralph Kendall and Rosella Fowler, and his brother, Edward Kendall. He is survived by six children, Chuck Kendall, Kim Kendall, Katrina Kendall, Robin Antonio, Kit Willmann, and Kay Kendall; sister, Roseleah (Lauren) Lodge; his beloved Bea; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. David was the farm manager for Hazlitt’s 1852 Vineyards for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a past volunteer fireman at the V-L-H Volunteer Fire Company and was also the owner and proprietor of the Red Light Cut-Up in Hector. He was also renowned for walking across Seneca Lake while it was frozen with Jim Hazlitt and Guy Schamel in 1976.
