Richard Smith

Age 59, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2011 while surrounded by his loving family at Robert-Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. There will be a celebration of his life held at the VFW Post 2674 in Watkins Glen, on Saturday, January 15, 2011 from 2-6pm. He is survived by his wife, Dianna (Rumsey) Smith; daughters, Riqui (Michael) Hess, Traci Boyzuck, and Chastain Rumsey, all of Watkins Glen; sister Marsha Smith of Omak, WA., brother Raymond "Geoff" (Debora) Smith of Rock Stream, sister Sheila (Larry) Woodworth of Hector; 7 grandchildren, Kodi, Gavin, Ryan, Peyton, Tim, Tegan, and Sara; and nephews Paul and Micah. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Vivian Smith of Hector. Born on June 18, 1951, he attended Watkins Glen Central School. He served in United States Army and later worked as a Shipping Operator for US Salt and was a member of the V.F.W Post 2674. "Smitty" was an outspoken Yankee, Giants and Dale Earnhart, Sr. fan.
